Red Carpet Welcome for a King – Torture Chamber For Opposition leader ?

OPINION BY GHK LALL November 2026

A king welcomed, a prisoner tortured (reportedly)

Above ground, a king smiles, is celebrated.  Dr. Ali is ecstatic, a dream realized; the presidency fulfilled.  Below ground, a prisoner is tortured.  Part medieval, a modern type of battering.  In PPP Guyana, at the time of a king (a former enslaver, a continuing dodger [apology and reparations]), there is the reported torturing of a Azruddin Mohamed.  An attempt at breaking at the rack.  King Charles should know.  The English were very good at this kind of royal governance.

There is no way I can confirm an audio recording that must have passed through 10,000 hands and 20,000 ears, before someone sent it to me.  It is an earful.  An ear-piercing one at deep inner levels.  One that, if accurate, shatters all pretense at straight and respected leadership, and aboveboard national governance.  Absorb some of the harder points that weigh heavily on the spirit.

Sleep deprivation inflicted on Guyana’s Leader of the Opposition, Mohamed.  Prison food is part of the afflictions of Guyana’s Leader of the Opposition, Mohamed.  Those are only the beginning of Mr. Mohamed’s reported troubles, as alleged.  Handcuffed in solitary confinement.  The absence of windows.  Little by way of fresh air.  Less in terms of space.  According to the voice that I believe to be that of Mr. Nazar Mohamed, father of Guyana’s Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Azruddin Mohamed, a week of these draconian conditions and diabolical tortures, would drive any man insane.

Perhaps that’s the vision, that’s the objective.  War declared against Guyana’s Leader of the Opposition, Mohamed.  Psychological tortures used to shatter his will, to break his spirit.  My fellow Guyanese, if any of this is true, let us all bear in mind that the Leader of the Opposition is a Constitutional office, regardless of the holder of that office.

Regardless how sinister or criminal he or she may be, as alleged.  Regardless how unbecoming and unsatisfactory he or she may be, as assessed. Regardless how menacing and dangerous he or she may be, as made out to be.

Here’s some food for thought: if what is placed in the public domain has an ounce of essence in it, in the case of the Leader of the Opposition, then what about an ordinary Guyanese?  What about any ordinary human obstacle that may be interpreted as a threat to the PPP Govt’s interests?  What would be their fate?  Before the law.  In the prison system.  In front of the court.

What makes this exceptionally contradictory is that it is the 21st century and there is a Government of Guyana (the PPP Govt) that speaks of democracy.  A king is cherished on the streets, while a prisoner is bombarded and brutalized via a broadside of physical and psychological bludgeoning rams.  I have read that ancient Chinese mandarins and warlords were extremely efficient at introducing psychological warfare to their captive subjects.  I have read that they were outstanding at practicing and inflicting it.  many centuries ago.  Shockingly, here there’s patter about how much the majesty of the law reigns supreme, while torture holds sway.  In bottom-house PPP Guyanese creole: rule of law and respect for the law, while an officeholder is experimented on.

Shockingly, there’s this uncorroborated audio that relays the existence of torturers in action, while an enslaver is hailed.

The agents of his forebears knew a thing or two about tortures on the plantation.  The people in the forefront of the welcoming party greeting this king seemingly know more than the cruel and inhumane English, those despised Cromwellians, about pressure and torture and punishment.

When a Leader of the Opposition can be treated in this horrendous manner, then a crime has been committed.  If one word on that audio has substance, then the PPP Govt is now irreversibly committed to waging war against the entirety of the Guyanese people.  Azruddin Mohamed, Guyana’s Leader of the Opposition, had a hell of a time to take his place in parliament.  It took white brothers and sisters to get him into that once august house.

Now he is reportedly in a rougher, bigger, uglier hell in the jailhouse.  It may require, once again, for the white folks to intervene behind the scenes and get him out of there.

Above ground a king was welcomed and honored.  Below ground, a national leader was being tortured and disfigured.  May that audio be a product of AI and fake news.  If only to give Mr. Mohamed some relief.  If only to offer the PPP a reprieve.
